A haven for imported food lovers and needers in Kobe
If you’re craving all the good stuff from home but don’t want to pay corporate prices of the import stores like seijoishii or kaldi coffee farm then you’re in luck because there are two stores in downtown Kobe literally a stone’s throw apart from each other that offer you all the imported goodness that you can shake a stick at.
The first and more eclectic is Kobe Grocers. This has an amazing range of products – much larger than seijoishii, and at similar or cheaper prices.

The second shop is more oriental in nature and will appeal to anyone who misses the perfume of curry spices in Asian shops back home. Kobe Halal Food is a halal store with mostly imports from Pakistan and India. You can buy mostly Asian staples like dried pulses, curry spices by the kilo and halal meat.
